Pro-Tip: New authors often want their covers to “stand out” and be different from the rest of the books in their genre. While it’s great to stand out, you should keep in mind the genre- and reader-expectations and what they are looking for when they go searching for books they think they will like. In this case, fitting in will do you more favors than being too different.
